Our number one goal is successfully integrating music education with the healing properties of music therapy & child movement. The ability to fuse all music educational needs opens the doors to endless possibilities within modern day teaching methods. By exploring, creating, replicating, and observing music, students will build their technical and expressive skills. They develop their artistry, and embrace the power of music to communicate without condescension under the same roof. Learning to play an instrument is an experience that enriches the mind, and soothes the soul. Music is a universal language that binds us together as a people; and the diversity of our student body is what drives our success.

We are very pleased with our piano lessons at bear claw. Our teacher, Sarah, is fantastic! She is extremely knowledgeable, and gives tips and information all throughout the lesson to add layers of interest. She also is a great motivator, always adding new pages to practice and techniques to try. We are constantly progressing forward!!!

My wife and I are retired. My wife, Lu, decided to learn cello without having played any instrument prior. Ms. Thirzah has been fantastic. She empathizes so well that Lu is able to learn at a very satisfying pace. Ms T has pointed out the pitfalls of learning as an adult and so Lu has avoided them. Ms. T has made the learning experience exciting and fun. I highly recommend to you adults to take on this happy adventure.

Our daughter, a high school senior who is applying to college music programs on bass guitar, unexpectedly lost her bass teacher right before her pre-screen audition tapes were due. Joe Burcaw, who had never even met her before, took her all the way through the process - including filming the application videos at his studio. Because of him, she was invited to audition at her first choice college, U Miami. He has prepared her for live auditions, giving her confidence, enhancing her technical skills, and teaching her music theory. She is dyslexic, so reading music is difficult for her, but Joe is able to help her with that as well. He is a gem; not only a gifted teacher and talented musician, but also a caring and patient person. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Our son is a serious high school trombone player who was looking for a teacher to take him to the next level. Joe carefully matched him up with Dan, and under Dan's tutelage our son is playing the best he ever has, surpassed his personal goals, and is on his way toward studying music in college. My 7 year old has been taking violin lessons at Bearclaw's since August 2016. We love it here! Joe is really friendly, organized and easy to communicate with about scheduling, etc. The studio is a very positive and friendly environment. Our violin instructor is Miss Kathy and she is wonderful - she has a great rapport with my daughter who has learned so much in a short period. We are so lucky to have such a great studio in our community!
