Attendance Policies

Students are expected to attend lessons regularly/weekly. Please give your instructor and Joe sufficient notice (24 hours) if you need to miss a lesson so we can adjust the instructor’s teaching schedule accordingly. Lessons missed or canceled will become permanently void of use going forward. Lesson packages will expire either 6 weeks or 8 weeks from the date of purchase depending on which lesson package has been purchased. This offers flexibility in case an instructor needs to cancel or is unavailable within the 4 lesson or 6 lesson package billing cycle. Exceptions will be made for emergency situations.

Lesson Termination

One month’s notice is required via e-mail to joe@bearclawsacademyofmusic.com if a student wishes to pause or stop lessons. Payments for lessons will be canceled exactly one month from the date notice is given.

Holidays

We are closed on the following major holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving, The Day After Thanksgiving, December 24th – January 4th, Easter Sunday, Spring Break April 13th-17th 2026, Memorial Day, Juneteenth and July 4th

Recital Dates

Twice a year we will offer music recitals for students wishing to hone in on their skills and talents in front of a live audience. Our music studios will be available before the recital commences (the day of) if students need to brush up on their chosen piece beforehand. Please contact Joe ahead of time for studio requests so arrangements may be made to block out specific rooms.

This year’s dates:
Saturday, December 13th, 2025 (1-2pm)
Saturday, June 13th, 2026 (1-2pm)

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, an email will be sent out by Joe two hours prior to the start of lessons. On inclement weather days, lessons will be virtual as an alternative option if desired by the student.
