The woodwind family includes all instruments that make sounds through means of a reed. When a student chooses to begin playing a woodwind instrument, they may decide they want to learn to play like jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker, or famous clarinetist Benny Goodman. Perhaps they want to venture into the double reeds, learning to play bassoon or oboe.
Regardless of the student’s preference, the instruction given on woodwind instruments will include top-notch instruction in technique, reading music and learning the role of the instruments within a band or orchestra.
